Case Study 12: Moving Copper To Port
Case Studies Series – 12 Moving copper from Pinto Valley Arizona to the port in Guyamas Mexico.
The new built ISG containers were delivered into America and railed across from the port to the closest rail siding to the copper mine in Arizona. The ISG Engineer Matthew Chalmers was at rail siding to inspect the containers before handing them over to the customer in Arizona. The ISG team designed an inspection hatch for the USA customs to inspect the empty containers on the return leg.
The containers are taken by road across the USA / Mexican border to be unloaded by a reach stacker tippler in a storage shed in Mexico for blending before being loaded into a ship. Once the containers were handed over they were loaded in the conventional way with copper concentrate in the USA.
